Ewedu / Eguisi Sauce (Western Nigeria)


  • Ewedu leaves (1 bunch)
  • Eguisi (ground) – 2 tablespoons
  • Water  – 2 cups
  • Salt -( discretional)


Pick and wash the ewedu leaves. Place in a blender. Add water and blend. Pour into a pot and boil for 10 minutes. Add the egusi, stir and simmer for 5 minutes. Add salt to taste. Serve with Obe Ata and Amala/fufu/eba or pounded yam.
